Butler Bridge/Southern Crossing Bridge site map

Site Captain: Penny Proteau, Sierra Club
This site is located underneath the George F. Butler Bridge (a.k.a the Southern Crossing Bridge). This is where the Napa River approaches the marshes and sloughs before entering San Pablo Bay. There is always a lot of trash here, but never enough volunteers. In 2007, volunteers removed 360 pounds of trash and 150 pounds of recyclables from the Napa River at this site. This is a good site for people who like to fish and enjoy viewing wildlife. This year the cleanup at this site will be led by the Napa Chapter of the Sierra Club. Volunteers will meet at the chain link fence at the end of Soscol Ferry Road. Kid friendly.

Each year the Napa Valley College, through its Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, cleans up the Park and boat launch areas along the Napa River. In 2007, 72 volunteers removed 412 pounds of trash and 275 pounds of recyclables from the Napa River.
